The porn use calculator gives you an idea of how many times you’ve used porn, and how much time this has all added up to so far.
This article is here to make sure your results really hit home and wake you up. If you value your time, these figures should give you even more reason to stay true to your commitment to quitting porn.
When you really reflect on what your results mean, the implications might be a shock. And if so, that’s a good thing: it could be just what you need right now.
My mission is to do whatever it takes to help you succeed with quitting porn . . . and if shocking you works, then I’m all about it!
Meet Ernest
Since I don’t know your specific numbers, I’m going to use a hypothetical guy as a case study to walk you through the porn use calculator results.
We’ll call him “Ernest”.
Say “hi” to Ernest, kids!
Ernest says “hi” back.
Ernest has been using porn regularly for 3 years, an average of 3 times per week, and 30 minutes per session.
These are conservative numbers for someone with porn addiction. But don’t worry: they’ll still highlight the staggering waste and consequences of frequent porn use.
The Implications of Your Results
1. Number of Times You’ve Used Porn
First, look at the total number of times you’ve used porn. If you’re reading this now, I’m sure this number is in the hundreds, or even thousands.
Just think about that. You have exposed yourself to porn hundreds or even thousands of different times!
Let’s look at the results for our man Ernest. Even with his modest figures, he’s used porn 468 separate times already. Staggering!
If your figures were higher (and mine sure were), you need to sit up and pay even more attention than Ernest here!
2. Number of Hours You’ve Spent Using Porn
Next, look at the total number of hours you’ve spent using porn. I’ll bet that’s now in the hundreds (or maybe even thousands) too.
Good old Ernest has spent a total of 234 hours using porn. Think about how long just one hour is. Then imagine 234 of them . . . all just spent using porn.
Now reflect on your own figure and how all those hours you’ve spent using porn have added up.
Oh, by the way, “spent” is the word I’m using here to be nice. If you want to be more accurate, wherever you see “spent”, just replace it with “wasted on”.
3. Equivalent Number of 24 Hour Days You’ve Spent Using Porn
If your total number of hours doesn’t hit home for you, look at the equivalent number of non-stop 24 hour days you’ve spent using porn.
For Ernest, the number is 9.8 days. Let’s round it to 10 days to keep it simple.
This means that Ernest’s total porn use adds up to the same amount of time that he would have spent if all he did was look at porn non-stop, every single moment of every single day for 10 straight days.
No stretch breaks, no snacks, no sleep, no pauses to update his Facebook status. Just 10 full 24 hour days of nothing but watching porn.
How about you? How many days and nights straight does all your porn use add up to? Is this sinking in yet?
4. Equivalent Number of Working Weeks You’ve Spent Using Porn
Now let’s look at the equivalent number of full time working weeks you’ve spent using porn. This is based on working 40 hours in a normal week.
Back to Ernest for a moment, whose number is 5.8 working weeks.
Let’s say that Ernest had a job where his only task was to sit at his desk and masturbate to porn from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
With no breaks of any kind. Not even lunch. Not even time out to take a quick piss.
The time he’s spent on porn so far is the same as him working in a job like that for almost 6 straight weeks!
How about you? Have you been with the firm longer than Ernest? How many years’ worth of annual leave allowances have you spent just jerking off to porn?
And what if you’d spent all those full time weeks on something worthwhile instead, like connecting with family and friends, learning or pursuing a fun hobby?
How much better would your life be now?
5. Bonus Points: Show Me the Money You Didn’t Make!
For a bonus, consider this: how much do you get paid per hour / per week?
Multiply that hourly/weekly pay rate by the number of hours/working weeks you’ve spent on porn to date.
How much money could you have made if you spent all that time working on a side hustle instead of jerking off to porn?
And what could you have bought with all that money?
What Kind of Exposure Does this Mean for You?
If these numbers haven’t shaken you up yet, let’s look at what kind of exposure this means for you.
Stay focussed while you think about this and don’t let yourself get triggered. We’ve got work to do here!
Imagine how many different porn scenes and images you’ve been exposed to over all that time.
Once again, we’re talking numbers at least in the hundreds and probably in the thousands.
Imagine how many sexual acts you’ve witnessed. Intimate sexual acts that you’ve watched other people perform. Isn’t that a weird thought?
Imagine how many different porn stars you’ve become familiar with. Porn stars who you will never meet and who don’t care about you one bit.
Imagine how many times you’ve been shocked or disgusted by things you’d never even imagined before.
Imagine how many times you’ve been exposed to ideas, attitudes and behaviours that are unhealthy and that you wouldn’t be proud to display in yourself.
Hundreds? Thousands?
You get the idea?
The Bottom Line
When you look at your porn use calculator results and their implications, I’m sure it all adds up to more than you would have guessed.
Your brain isn’t designed to handle that kind of bombardment. No wonder porn use has been causing so many problems in your life!
So, if you find yourself getting tempted or off track in future, you can always remind yourself of your porn use calculator results to wake you up again.
Ernest says “good morning”.
